June 2011: Bookend Birthday's and an Anniversary in between

May 2011 Kindergarten Graduation

 Gage's Charter School held a nice graduation ceremony for the kindergartner's and their families. Each child was called up individually. As they stood by the Principal and their teacher a powepoint presentaion showed their baby picture next to a picture the school had taken of the child in cap and gown holding a diploma. The principal had collected from the teachers nice thoughts about each child and they were read aloud. The principal had then talked with each child about what they wanted to do when they grew up. Gage said he wanted to be, "A Policeman, Fireman, Pilot, Astronaut, Farmer, and that's all." I wish I could remember that nice things they said about Gage, I signed my name on a list that was to be emailed these thoughts, but I've never gotten them. :( Anyway the little charter didn't make it and so we're off on an adventure to seek out the next school. Gage had a good experience here. We're grateful for the teacher's that worked so diligently to try and make it work.

The first weekend Gage got out of school we went garage saling for a bike but came home with  a jeep and harely instead. Hope it's a good summer!

April 2011: A New Covenant

For the first time ever, we saw a rainbow from end to end. Notice too that it's double banded.

I'm so grateful for the life, death and ressurection of the Savior. As the world was washed of the sinful in Noah's time so can our sins be washed away by Christ's atonement. A rainbow reminds me of the feeling I get when I know my sins have been forgiven. I feel hope and a sense humble awe that I can be clean and renewed. Happy belated Easter to all!

My sister's are both moving this month. Jessi to Tahoe, Kelli to Georgia. We were able to get together for a last hurrah during General Conference weekend. We met up at Kelli's in Provo for a sista's + Curtis Bro gathering. As a departing gift to ourselves we indulged in a night of party mongering. Here's our list of conquests:
Ring and Running our relatives (I've got to post this on youtube with my cousin's permission. His reaction to being pranked was colassal)
Singing at a kareoke bar. The Kareoke Cafe near SLC was fantastic. I'd reccommend it to anybody looking to have some good diner food and great atmosphere.
Go Cart Racing. And I'm not talking Yahoo's. This was serious, had to watch a video, wear a helmet, black and white checkered flag racing. Nice little rush!
Playing Guitar Hero and making cinnamon rolls for Sunday morning's breakfast.

I fell asleep while playing guitar hero. But I did play. I'm not sure how much longer Jess and Kel stayed up but it was a full evening of fun and lasting memories. Thanks Frijolas! And best of luck in your next adventures!

March 2011 Lucky to be...

A mom of three...

This month we savored and relished in the planning, construction, and execution of building a better Leprechaun trap. We even used real gold but alas we were still eluded by those deceitful creatures. My mom made green polka dott bow ties for the boys and a hair band for me. Gage enjoyed a "party" celebrating their kindergarten classes win of bringing in the most box tops. Cole continues in co-op preschool and Dane just tags along. It is a good thing he likes the NRC's playcenter when I go teach. I'm glad he sees that as a treat and not torcher.
I've taken the camera on a few outings.
 The earth, trees and flowers are starting to think spring, the sky however seems to say different.  

February 2011 Lots of Love

A particularly dreary winter calls for crafts and parties. Above: wreath made at craft party. It sure was nice to have a little something to liven up the dulldrums of winter.A Valentines feast including rice crispie treat cake, heartthrob pizza breadsticks, and of course nothing says "I love you like a food saver". Well, Lans has really been wanting one.

What I really wanted was a trip to the Bahamas! This year's birthday gift was a Bahama Cruise with my best childhood friend Kendra. NOTHING eliminates the chill of winter like a carribean breeze, reggea music, and fun fun FUN with a friend! We also went to Disney world...just thought I'd throw that part in too. ;)...I promise, he really did want a food saver.

January 2011 Birthdays and Bunnies, "dust bunnies" that is...

We drove to Oregon for a fun family birthday weekend. Jan turned the big 4-0! ;). It's always fun to see Lans' syblings and parents. Thanks Tami for some basic camera instruction. I celebrated a birthday and Gage participated in the Missoula Children's theater again this year. He was a dust bunny in the play, "The Princess and the Pea".

December 2010

 Christmas in Cascade entailed sledding, snowball wars (Curtis builds a mean fort), sled rides behind the rzr, eating and an abundance of merriment with aunts, uncle, grandparents and kids.

"I'm wishing for a real live (wait for it) fire truck"...no matter how many times I suggested a fire truck themed birthday, he still wanted a race car. Good thing I still decided to get him a siren sounding fire hat. Happy Birthday my funny little guy.
